My experience with Gershow is the best . I am compensated for my fair amount of weight, at the rate , they pay. On like the recycle company few blocks away, who take advantage of me . I rather drive 1/2 to Gershaw.They are the best .
It went well. The receipt was 47.70 but I only got 47.00 I wasn’t going to go back because I didn’t notice until I was a ways away.

They do a great job sorting out the scrap. However, I don’t understand why they don’t allow steel on a small scale. You can only bring steel to the big scale as you drive to the lot. I don’t trust driving in there with all the loose nails and screws lying around. I had an issue twice with stuff on my tires. Other than that, it’s worth bringing other stuff to weigh in. Especially copper, aluminum, and car batteries.

First timer at recycling scrap metal at Gershow in New Hyde Park. Great experience! Rob was very helpful, kind and courteous. Very well run operation. All went smooth. My experience is always good with the guys except recently with —— , lately am getting light iron and appliance , instead a mix load when—— is working. It is just impossible for me not to have a mix load every day with the size of my truck and the weight I drop off in the yard. Other than that I have no problem partner with Gershow Recycle .
