excellent packed, moved us out, stored the goods, delivered to new apartment, unpacked major items
Since the building I moved into had a 4:00 pm cut -off I asked the movers to start at 7:00 am. They were prompt (7:15) and the whole job was finished by 2 using one truck and 6 men. There was no breakage, and bed and futon were taken apart and put back together perfectly. An excellent job and they came in UNDER the estimate! One piece that I think helped a lot was arranging space for their truck in front of both places, using parked cars and alt side parking. Came for in home estimate for 2 bedroom apartment, overestimated 30 boxes and an additional $750 more than I ended up paying for an excellent mover. Moving from NYC to Philadelphia
They were SO friendly, accommodating, energetic, and amazingly efficient. All of my furniture was moved with care and so well. They made sure to be neat and organized while they were bringing things in. I would recommend them to absolutely anyone! I spoke with them and they quickly came over for an estimate. Then they came to pack on one day and move on the next day.
I've used Big John's for all my moves within New York City (and I move a fair amount). They're probably not the cheapest you'll find, but they do a great job and it's worth it to know you're hiring a company that knows what it's doing. They show up on time, don't break anything, and the moving crews have always been courteous and professional. I highly recommend them. Big John's moved our (large) one-bedroom apartment.
The experience was wonderful. They were fabulous, prompt, professional and cheerful. The price was good. They packaged my oil paintings beautifully. They drove some furniture upstate and that worked perfectly. We liked them very much. I hired them to move my contents to the new apartment.
Overall this was a great experience. The men were extremely polite and professional and wanted to do a good job. When they needed to bring a 4th guy to help move and pack, the owner told he that he would provide the extra manpower at no cost. The final price came in higher than expected because the initial estimate was low, and John made it right by refunding more money than I expected. They arrived on time. Did a great job quickly. Handled everything with great care. Items i had to take apart to move in thay got out without having to dismantle saving at least an hour on the move. John moved the contents of my 1 br apt in Manhattan to Jersey City.
Overall, the experience was pretty amazing. They were really courteous and responsive. From the moment they gave me the estimate, to the moment they revised the estimate to match a competitor's price, to the moment when they hauled heavy and giant items very very carefully through my building and home. They were discrete, professional and I would recommend them hands down to anyone doing a small or big move.
