They do a great job sorting out the scrap. However, I don’t understand why they don’t allow steel on a small scale. You can only bring steel to the big scale as you drive to the lot. I don’t trust driving in there with all the loose nails and screws lying around. I had an issue twice with stuff on my tires. Other than that, it’s worth bringing other stuff to weigh in. Especially copper, aluminum, and car batteries.

First timer at recycling scrap metal at Gershow in New Hyde Park. Great experience! Rob was very helpful, kind and courteous. Very well run operation. All went smooth. Very professional team. Lucas, the tower, arrived early to test and remove my vehicle. He was very pleasant and knowledgeable. I received a nice amount for my car. I would definitely work with Gershow Recycling again. Highly recommend.
